Liverpool Football Club

Liverpool  Football Club (the Reds) is Founded in 1892 and have base in Liverpool. Liverpool Football Club stadium is Anfield, and in a way this stadium is what caused Liverpool FC to be created in the first place. Another football club from the Liverpool city is Everton FC, which, in fact, was established about 10 years earlier than Liverpool FC. Actually The Anfield stadium was home of Everton but the club decided to leave the ground for Goodison Park following a seven-year tenancy, because of a dispute over the rent. With an empty stadium and only three players remaining, The Anfield owner - John Houlding formed Liverpool Football Club on 15th March 1892. Since Liverpool Football Club was formed until now, Liverpool have reach many impressive achievements as mentioned above. They are always managed in the top position of English football at several last decade. Watch the Liverpool match can be a very good choice, so Liverpool tickets is one of our best recommendation. How to get to Liverpool

By air

John Lennon Airport located about 10 miles from Anfield. It has direct flights from North America, other cities in Uk and Europe. It also served by budget airlines, Easyjet and Ryanair amongst others. Be forewarned that British Airways, the largest carrier in England, does not service Liverpool. the Airfare to Liverpool will be cheaper on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday. Mondays are popular with business travelers and weekends are for holidaymakers wanting the longest trips possible so avoid these dates. Taxis should be easily obtainable. Alternatively, you can catch the 80A or 86A bus from the airport to Liverpool South Parkway bus/rail interchange and ask for a rail ticket to Anfield. For just £1.00 extra on the normal return rail fare to Sandhills (the nearest station to Anfield), you'll also get a return ticket for the Soccerbus, which provides a direct non-stop service between Sandhills station and Anfield.

By Train

Lime station is Liverpool's main train station. If you are arriving from out of town, you will likely arrive here. It is located in the northeast of the city and is about 2 miles from Anfield. From the station you can take a relatively cheap taxi  to Anfield with cost about £6.00 for up to 5 passengers and take approximately 10-15 mins. Several buses go to Anfield from Queen Square opposite the station and on match days there is also a direct SoccerBus service from St Georges Hall (also opposite the station).

After the match, unless you’re driving or have a SoccerBus ticket, many supporters choose to walk back into town, as the regular Arriva/Stagecoach buses are overcrowded, and taxis can be difficult to hail. There are usually a string of 'private' buses parked up along Walton Breck Road (behind the Kop) which run to Lime Street, for between £2 and £3, and they leave when they've been filled (which is usually quite quickly!)

By Bus

Buses from all over England arrive in Liverpool. The city is also serviced by an extensive bus system. The National Express coach station is located on Norton Street, just off London Road. From here it is a 3/4 minute walk past Lime Street station to Queen Square, or 10 minute walk to Paradise Street Interchange Line 26 (from Paradise St. bus station) or 17B, 17C, 17D & 217 (from Queen Square bus station) stop directly to the ground. Line 68 & 168 (between Bootle and Aigburth) or line 14 (from Queen Square) & 19 stop a short walk away.

By Car

From the North

Leave the M6 at Junction 23 and take the A580 (East Lancashire Rd) signposted to Liverpool. Follow the A580, passing under the M57 (11 miles), then under a railway bridge (2.75 miles) and finally (0.75 mile later) turn left onto the A5058 (Queens Drive) towards Widnes. Proceed for 0.5 mile turning right at the lights into Utting Avenue. Pass under the railway bridge which continues into Arkles Lane. Please note that this area is a residents' parking zone and a valid permit is required to park your car in any street within this vicinity. The ground is just to the right at the far end of Arkles Lane.

From the South and South East

At the Liverpool end of the M62, keep in the right hand lane and take the signs for A5058 (Queens Drive). Stay on the A5058 passing St. Matthews Church (2.5 miles) finally turning left (in 0.5 mile) at the lights into Utting Avenue (Asda should be just visible on the right as you approach the lights). Pass under the railway bridge which continues into Arkles Lane. Please note that this area is a residents' parking zone and a valid permit is required to park your car in any street within this vicinity. The ground is just to the right at the far end of Arkles Lane.

From the East:
From the M62, exit Junction 6 onto the M57, go to the end of the motorway and then left onto the A59 Ormskirk Road. Then follow the same route for north.

From the Wirral

From the end of the M53 or A41, pass through one of the Mersey Tunnels (Toll Fare). Whichever tunnel you use you should take the A59 (North/Preston) as you leave the tunnel. Follow this road until you see signs for the A580 (St. Helens and Manchester). As you reach the junction where the A59 meets the A580, keep in the right hand lane (A580), which turns right after the lights onto a hill (Everton Valley). Please note that this area is a residents' parking zone and a valid permit is required to park your car in any street within this vicinity.

As the road climbs up the hill at the start of the A580 (Everton Valley) keep in the right hand lane. After the first set of traffic lights, use the right hand filter lane to turn onto the A5089, signposted Anfield. Anfield is down this road (Walton Breck Road) on the left hand side.

The roads around the ground get very congested towards kick off and getting away after the game can take a while. On-road parking can be hard to find (the area is residential with lots of terraced houses in narrow streets, parking restrictions are heavily enforced and have recently been changed to make sure they cover every possible kick off time) but fortunately there are plenty of car parks within 5-15 mins walk in schools / industrial units etc. These cost around £5-£7 (closer = more expensive). You can still expect to hear the usual ‘can I mind ya car for ya mate?’ if you park in any residential area that isn’t a designated car park. Say you’ll pay them after the game and give them some change when you get back.

Eating and drinking

Around The Ground

There are numerous pubs and fast-food outlets on Walton Breck Road and Oakfield Road, within spitting distance of the ground.

The main away pub is The Arkles, located on Anfield Road (adjacent to the away end), but the vast majority of pubs around the ground are welcoming of away fans, as long as they're well-behaved!

The pubs around the ground do get incredibly busy leading up to kick off, and getting served can be a bit of a nightmare at times, so it may be advisable to drink in the city centre before getting a cab up to the ground (around £6-£7), or to drink in some of the pubs a bit further away from the ground. The likes of The Albert and The Park get absolutely chocker because of their proximity to the ground, and so a better bet might be The Cabbage or the LFC Supporters Club, which are a 5-10 minute walk away.

The City Centre

If you're after pub-grub, then there's no shortage of establishments offering food and beer at reasonable prices. For the more gastronomically-minded, try The Fly in the Loaf on Hardman Street. Centrally located only a 5-minute walk from Lime Street, their kitchen have been churning out top quality food for years. The vast range of beers (both on tap and in bottles) is impressive, too. If you're arriving by train then the Richard John Blackler (Wetherspoons) is only a stone's throw from Lime Street. Situated in a converted department store, it's enormous, so you'll always be able to find a space.

For the real ale fans, you can do a lot worse than find one of the pubs run by Cain's, the local brewer. The Dispensary on Renshaw Street and Doctor Duncans on St John's Lane are the two most centrally located, and offer up pints of the local tipples.

The recently opened Liverpool One retail development has given a massive boost to the city centre, and there are a wealth of newly opened restaurants to tempt hungry souls, from the likes of Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Nandos through to Wagamama and Yo Sushi. The new development also opens up a link to the Albert Dock, which is now a pleasant couple of minutes' stroll from the main shopping area. Likewise on the dock you'll find numerous eateries like Est Est Est and the renowned Pan American Club, alongside some of the city's trendier bars. If trendy's not your thing, then head along to either Concert Square or Mathew Street of an evening.

The city is also home to one of the first established Chinese communities in England, due to its history as a port city, and boasts the largest ornamental arch outside of China itself. Chinatown offers a wide choice of restaurants, serving decent food at reasonable prices, open late into the night. A particular favourite of ours is the New Capital, but we've eaten in quite a few of the restaurants down here and not been disappointed yet. If you're looking for something on the hoof, then head to Buffet Star on Hanover Street - away from Chinatown itself, but it's the best Chinese buffet on offer in the city.
