How to get to Barcelona
By Air Barcelona self by Spain's second largest airport - Barcelona El Prat Airport. It’s about 10km from the city center of Barcelona, and because it’s physically located in a city called El Prat de Llobregat. Some suggested airlines to try include: Air France, Alitalia, BMI Baby, British Airways, Easyjet, Iberia Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Monarch, Swiss International, Thomsonfly and Ryanair*. You can get a taxi from the airport to the city center, but the cheaper option is to take the RENFE train. It runs every half-hour or so from the airport into the city center, and a one-way ticket is under €3. All trains stop at Sants-Estaçio, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf and Clot-Aragó, all of which connect with the metro. The RENFE Cercanías station is connected to the passenger terminal via a travelator, which is situated in front of the terminal building between Terminals A and B.
The favoured (and more frequent option) is to take the Aerobús (A1) which runs from outside each terminal from 6am through until midnight. Its journey takes about 20 to 25 minutes and services run roughly every 7 – 15 minutes. It stops at all the major tourist centres en route including Plaça Espanya, Plaça Universitat and Plaça Catalunya and costs around €3.75 for a single or €6.45 return and if you don’t have any loose change on you, the service accepts payment by VISA card. For further details, have a look at the website at www.emt-amb.com.
the easiest method of travel into the city centre is by taxi with ranks located outside all terminals. Depending upon where you are travelling to in the city, the journey will take around 25 minutes and cost around €20. Be prepared to pay a couple of Euros above this if you arrive between 9pm and 7am or of a weekend. There is also a supplement for each piece of luggage of €0.90. If you are arriving at the airport close to kick off, the taxi fare straight to the stadium will cost around €23. All fares are metered. There is a 3€ supplement on top of the metered fare for travel to and from the airport. At night there is a new automatic 2€ supplement on all taxi fares.
*If you are travelling by Ryanair, you will land at either Girona or Reus Airports. Girona airport lies 70 miles northeast of Barcelona. Transport into Barcelona is by Barcelona Bus, which arrives in Barcelona at Estació del Nord. Round-trip tickets cost around €20 and a single €12. Buses leave and travel to the airport for each Ryanair flight taking around 1 hour and 10 minutes. For details of the bus services to and from the airport visit the bus company’s website at www.sagales.com.
Alternatively, you can get a taxi into Girona (around €4) and get a train to Barcelona taking around 90 minutes and costing as little as €6.25. A taxi from the airport into Barcelona will cost a whopping €160 but if you’re arriving in a group, it might be worth looking at arranging an airport transfer which may prove cheaper.
Reus Airport is slightly closer - around 56 miles away and has a bus service five times a day to Barcelona costing €11 one way and taking around 1hr 20mins from outside the Arrivals terminal.
By Train There are two large train stations in Barcelona – Barcelona-Sants and Barcelona-Estacio de Franca. Between the two you’ll find regular daily connections to cities in France, including Nice, and elsewhere in Spain. There’s a new high-speed train connecting Madrid and Barcelona that takes between 2.5-3.5 hours.
By Road From the Barcelona International Airport, head northeast on C-32B (otherwise known as Carretera a l’Aeroport. Stay on this road until it merges with C-32 (also called Autopista de Pau Casals and then Ronda de Dalt). You’ll continue on this road for just under 6km, and then take the 11-Diagonal toward Les Corts. Turn slightly right at Avinguda Diagonal, and then right at Avinguda del Doctor Maranon. When you reach the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Carrer d’Aristides Maillol. The Camp Nou will be ahead on your right.
For internal transfers within Spain, Alsa Enatcar are the largest company running services for bus from the Estació del Nord. This terminal is the point for most long-distance services to and from the city

Directions to Camp Nou
public transport Camp Nou is almost due west from downtown Barcelona, just over 5km away, but it’d still be over an hour walking. Luckily, there are three metro stations right around the stadium. You could take line 3 to Les Corts or Maria Cristina, or line 5 to Collblanc, but probably your best option is the Maria Cristina station. Take the Avenida Diagonal exit and go down the road that has the two big towers to your left. Turn left onto Avinguda de Joan XXIII at the big intersection, and the stadium will be down that road right in front of you. A single metro ticket is just over €1.
Driving direction From the Placa de Catalunya in central Barcelona, head southwest toward Rambla de Catalunya. Stay on Ronda de la Universitat, and then turn slightly left at Placa de la Universitat – you’ll need to stay slightly left to stay on Placa de la Universitat. Follow Ronda de Sant Antoni and then turn right at Carrer de Manso, and left to stay on this road. Turn right at Avinguda del Paral-lel. At Placa d’Espanya, take the 3rd exit onto Carrer de la Creu Coberta, and then continue on Carrer de Sants. You’ll turn right at Carrer d’Arizala and then left at Travessera de les Corts. You’ll turn right at Carrer d’Aristides Maillol, and the stadium will be ahead on your right.

Eating and drinking
There are plenty of local bars and pubs serving a range of beer, too many to mention, but if you’re on the city for a couple of days, try the Port Olimpic or Olympic Harbour with a wide range of places to eat, drink and dance the night away in a rather picturesque setting.
Main Drinking Areas
Simply put: Las Ramblas. Most fans will head here during the day, although we might suggesting heading off into some of the smaller side-streets to avoid the mass of bodies and finding yourself a smaller, local bar if you want to avoid the higher prices and tourist trappings.
Irish & English Pubs
Some of the more centrally-located (and therefore likely to popular with English fans, despite being somewhat pricey) include Michael Collins Pub opposite Sagrada Familia in the heart of the city (metro L2 or L5 to station of the same name), open everyday from 12pm – 3am, Temple Bar on Carrer Ferran, just off Las Ramblas, open 12pm – 2am during the week through until 3am on weekends (metro Liceu L4) but expect to pay around €5.20 for Guinness and €4.50 for a pint.
However, these are only a selection and others include My Bar, the Temple Bar’s younger brother, just off Las Ramblas (metro L3 Liceu) with the same opening hours and prices; Flaherty’s again just off Las Ramblas (metro L3 to Liceu) where you can get Guinness for €4.70 and a pint for around €4.20, the Donegal Irish Pub, opened in 2005 of Las Ramblas, open from 8.30am – 3am and from 11am on weekends, the Shamrock (metro L1 or L3 to Catalunya), open from 12pm to 2.30am and to 3am on weekends and McCarthy’s Bar (metro L1 or L4 Urquinaona), open from 1pm – 2.30am during the week and until 3am on the weekend offering pints for €3.70 and Guinness for €4.50.
There are also a couple of English pubs including the Black Horse situated on C/Allada Vermall – from Las Ramblas walk along C/ Ferran across via Laietana along C/ Princesa to C/Allada Vermall (metro L1 or L2 Arc de Triomf). It is open 6pm – 2am and from 1pm – 3am on weekends. The Smoking Dog (metro Sant Antoni) is slightly further out of the city centre open 6pm – 2.30am or 3am on weekends and serves the usual beers and Guinness for around €3.60 to €4. The George and Dragon just off Paseo de Gracia (metro L2, L3, L4 Gracia) is fairly centrally-located and is open until 2.30am everyday.
